I think it was 2 years ago when I first came across the SciFi Month on Sarah Higbee’s blog. I loved the idea, since I’m as much a fan of science fiction as I am of fantasy, but it felt rushed to try joining mid-month. Instead, I hoped to join the following year, which in the end, never happened.
This year, I was determined to not miss it. I noted the date in my calendar and started gathering ideas—and there were so many! Time, of course, flies and I might be far from feeling prepared, but I’m still joining it.
What is SciFi month?
Hosted by Lisa from Dear Geek Place and Imyril from One More, SciFiMonth takes place in November and is a celebration of science fiction in all its subgenres and forms: books, movies, games, and everything else. You can still join it or simply follow the happenings and discussions with the #SciFiMonth hashtag on social media. There’s also a photo challenge if you’re on the visual side of creativity.
What can you expect from me?
As I mentioned, I had a lot of ideas, but at the same time, with work to be done on my non-scifi series and other commitments, I have to be cautious in adding more workload. I like to meet my deadlines and keep my promise.
So in November, I’m hoping to share at least 4 posts with you, mostly on bookish things. You’ll get to know which sci-fi books are my favorite, which books have truly alien aliens, and which of Polish science fiction novel I’d love to see translated. And as a gamer, I’ll also sneak in a post discussing foreign planet colonization in video games.
There are few others I have in mind, but until I know they can happen, I won’t make any promises. And, of course, I’d love to do some scifi-related art as well, but as always: writing comes first.
I’m looking forward to sharing my posts and participating in all things SciFi. I hope you’ll be there too!
