The Wordwitch (which got its name thanks to Myk Pilgrim) is a series of drawings I started back in January 2017. At first, it was one image, but soon more ideas followed and my notebook filled with more pictures. As I just recently launched my Facebook Page, it seemed a good time to start sharing them.
These drawings appear weekly on Tuesdays, on social media under the #thewordwitch hashtag, and are a monthly roundup post here. I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Shiny New Idea
Back in the day, I had a lot of problems with finishing my projects, especially the bigger ones. Over the years, I’ve become more disciplined (mostly using the new ideas as a reward for completing the old ones), but sometimes an idea just demands my attention. And then, it’s pretty much like that: Oh look! SHINY!
Sometimes, when you really need a hand, without a word a friend steps in and makes things better. One day, when I really needed a friend’s help, Sheri appeared like a superhero. I felt a simple “thank you” wasn’t enough, so here she is in all her blue hair and unicorn glory.
Best Motivation Ever
Some time ago, I was stuck with a scene I was writing. I asked JR Bee if she was willing to help, but I told her I’d need to reveal the whole story to her. Not only she was fine with the spoilers and helped me to solve my problem, but also she got very excited about the story, constantly encouraging me to finish it as soon as possible.
She’s not the only one to motivate me. Recently, one of my beta readers asked me how my writing is going and how I was doing with the story she read.
Such encouragement is always the best motivation to work faster, write more, and finish my projects.
This Is Melfka
I’m actually quite good with my writing and editing projects, but every now and then I fall off the track. This week’s excuse would be my husband’s vacation and recovering from the root canal.
What about you? Do you procrastinate? What are you supposed to be doing now?
